The year 2009 had been a busy year for the G5 Artists Group. Throughout the year, the group engaged in various activities such as exhibitions, participating in various expos and bazaars, holding workshops on paintings and many others. To wrap-up the activities in 2009 the group organised a beach party at the Berakas Forest Reserve Recreational Park recently. The party was filled with lots of activities including sketching the scenery of the park, barbequing and face painting. Some of the girls in the group worked on a painting with a mixture of colours. When the painting was completed they named it "Farewell to 2009".
The girls said the year 2009 had been a wonderful year for them because this was the year they achieved a lot of success in their lives, and many of their dreams had come true. That explained why the painting was done with such colourful patterns.
According to President of the G5 Artists, Nabil Fikri, the beach party was held in conjunction with the school holidays. Since most of them had recently finished the UBD's exam, the beach party was the best way to help them refresh their minds, he said.
Nabil added that the group would be more active next year, with lots of activities and programmes planned especially during the school holidays in a bid to help enliven the local art scene.
